The Cat, The Bull, and the Orange Star
Mittens was no ordinary cat. While other cats chased mice and napped in sunbeams, Mittens dreamed of adventure. She lived on a farm where Barnaby, the gentlest bull anyone had ever met, spent his days grazing in the meadow.
Every afternoon, Mittens would perch on the wooden fence and watch Barnaby. His golden brown coat gleamed in the sunlight, and his big, kind eyes made him look like a giant teddy bear. Most cats would be scared of someone so enormous, but not Mittens. She sensed something special about him.
One magical evening, as an orange glow painted the sky at sunset, Mittens finally gathered her courage. "Hello there!" she called out, her whiskers twitching with excitement.
Barnaby lifted his massive head and smiled. "Well, hello, little friend. I've been hoping you'd visit me."
That was the beginning of the most wonderful friendship the farm had ever seen. Every day, Mittens and Barnaby would explore together. The tiny cat would ride on the bull's broad back as they wandered through meadows filled with buttercups and daisies.
"I wish we could see something truly magical," Mittens sighed one evening while sharing an orange that had fallen from the farmhouse orchard.
Barnaby's eyes twinkled. "I know a secret place. Follow me!"
He led her to a hidden clearing where fireflies danced like tiny stars. But the real magic happened when Barnaby touched his nose to an orange flower. A brilliant orange spark shot up into the sky, bursting into a shimmering star that glowed just for them.
"Every true friendship creates its own light," Barnaby explained softly.
From that night on, whenever Mittens and Barnaby were together, a warm orange glow surrounded them. The other animals watched in wonder as the smallest cat and the biggest bull proved that the best friendships come in the most unexpected packages.
And somewhere up in the sky, if you look carefully on starry nights, you might still see their orange star twinkling, reminding the world that friendship is the greatest magic of all.
