The Cat and the Zombie Firefly
Luna was a small black cat with bright yellow eyes, the kind of cat who loved to explore. Every night, she crept through the garden, chasing fireflies and dreaming of adventures.
One evening, Luna noticed something strange. A single firefly wasn't flying—it was shuffling along the ground like a tiny zombie! Its glow had faded to a dull gray flicker.
"Mrrow?" Luna whispered, nudging the little creature gently.
The firefly looked up sadly. "I'm Sparky," it squeaked. "I forgot how to fly. I've been walking around like a zombie for three whole nights. Without flying, my light is fading too."
Luna's heart felt heavy. She knew just who could help—her human friend, Rosie, who was a scientist.
Luna tapped on Rosie's window until she woke up. Rosie smiled when she saw Luna guiding her to the sad firefly.
"Oh no, Sparky forgot how to fly!" Rosie said. "But I have something special. It's my Vitamin W—Vitamin Wonder!"
Rosie dropped a tiny sparkling drop onto a flower petal. Sparky ate it, and suddenly—POOF! His glow turned brilliant gold again. His wings fluttered once, twice, and then he zoomed into the sky!
"Thank you, thank you!" Sparky called down, dancing in the air like a tiny star. "You saved me!"
Luna purred proudly, and Rosie hugged her. "We're a great team, Luna. You found the problem, and we fixed it together."
That night, Luna learned something important: Sometimes friends get stuck and need help. When you see someone in need—even a little zombie firefly—you can be the hero who helps them shine again.
And every night after that, Sparky made sure to fly right over Luna's garden, glowing extra bright just for his friend.
