The Cable to Cloud Field
Lily loved running through her neighborhood, her feet pounding the pavement like drumbeats. But her favorite running spot was the old park behind her house, where a single silver cable dangled from the sky.
Nobody knew where the cable came from. It just hung there, shimmering in the sunlight, swaying gently in the breeze. The grown-ups said it was probably from a broken satellite, but Lily knew better.
One Tuesday, while running past it, the cable dipped low and brushed her shoulder. Startled, Lily grabbed it—and suddenly, she was lifted off her feet!
"Whoa!" she cried as the cable pulled her upward, higher and higher, until she landed on a fluffy white cloud. Before her stretched the most beautiful baseball field she had ever seen. The bases were made of golden stars, and the pitcher's mound glowed like a tiny moon.
"Welcome!" said a boy with silver hair and sparkling blue eyes. "I'm Orion. You must be the new player they told us about."
"New player?" Lily asked. "But I've never played baseball before!"
"That doesn't matter here," Orion smiled, handing her a glove that shimmered like rainbow. "In the Sky League, the most important thing is believing in yourself."
The game was magical. When Lily hit the baseball, it left trails of stardust. When she ran the bases, she felt lighter than air. The other players cheered so loudly that their shouts turned into gentle rainbows.
After the game, Orion shared a secret. "The cable appears only for children with kind hearts and big dreams. You can visit us whenever you want—just grab hold and believe."
That night, Lily fell asleep with stardust still in her hair and a baseball glove under her pillow. She learned that sometimes the most magical adventures are just a running leap away, and believing in yourself is the greatest power of all.
