The Cable of Friendship
Seven-year-old Luna lived in a cottage by the sea. Every morning, she would walk along the beach, collecting shells and watching the waves crash against the shore. Her favorite spot was a small lagoon where the water was always calm and blue.
One Tuesday, while exploring, Luna found something incredible half-buried in the sand—a thick, glowing cable that stretched from the dunes all the way into the lagoon's water. It pulsed with a soft purple light, as if it were alive.
Luna followed the cable into the dunes, where she discovered a hidden cave. Inside sat an old wooden chest. When she opened it, she found not gold or jewels, but a magnificent padel with a surface that reflected dreams and memories.
"Finally!" said a voice from the water. A young boy named Kai appeared, standing on the lagoon's surface as if it were solid ground. "I've been waiting for someone to find the Friendship Bridge!"
Kai explained that he was a guardian of the magical realm beneath the water. Long ago, children had forgotten how to truly be friends—they stopped sharing, stopped listening, stopped caring. So the magic had faded, and the cable that connected both worlds had gone dark.
"The padel only works when two children play together with kindness in their hearts," Kai said. "Will you help me bring back the magic?"
Luna nodded eagerly. She invited the new girl from school, Mateo, who always sat alone at recess. At first, Mateo was shy, but Luna was patient.
As they played with the magical padel, something wonderful happened. Every time they cheered for each other or helped one another, the cable glowed brighter. The water began to sparkle, and hundreds of tiny lights floated up, carrying messages of friendship out into the world.
"I see happy children everywhere!" Kai called out. "The magic is working!"
Luna learned that true friendship doesn't just mean playing together—it means being kind even when it's hard, including everyone, and believing in each other.
That night, Luna and Mateo promised to always be guardians of the Friendship Bridge. And every evening at sunset, they could be seen playing together, sending magic and friendship out into the world, one paddle swing at a time.
