The Cable of Dreams
Luna was a curious little mermaid who loved exploring the sparkling blue kingdom beneath the waves. Every morning, she would go swimming past the coral gardens and wave at the colorful fish darting between the sea anemones. The water was her playground, full of secrets and magic.
One day, while exploring near the edge of the mermaid kingdom, Luna discovered something she had never seen before. It was a long, shimmering cable that stretched from the ocean floor all the way up, up, up toward the surface. It pulsed with a soft golden light, and when Luna swam closer, she could hear it humming a gentle melody.
"What are you?" Luna wondered, reaching out to touch the glowing cable.
Suddenly, a voice echoed from above. "I'm the Dream Cable! I carry wishes from children on land down to the ocean, and carry ocean magic up to them!"
Luna's eyes widened. A whole new world existed above the water! Children were making wishes, and the cable delivered them. But something was wrong—the cable was tangled in some old seaweed, and the golden light was growing dim.
"The wishes can't get through!" the Dream Cable cried sadly. "Soon, children will stop believing in magic."
Luna knew what she had to do. She summoned her friends—a clever octopus named Oliver, a strong crab named Clara, and hundreds of tiny glowing fish. Together, they worked to untangle the cable. Oliver used his many arms to carefully loosen the knots while Clara snipped away the stubborn seaweed. The little fish illuminated the dark corners so Luna could see where to pull.
When the final knot came loose, the Dream Cable blazed with brilliant light! Hundreds of bubbles floated up, each carrying a wish. Luna watched them rise toward the surface, knowing somewhere above, children's dreams were coming true.
"Thank you, Luna," the Dream Cable hummed. "You saved the magic between worlds."
That night, Luna fell asleep to the cable's gentle song, knowing that friendship and courage could untangle any problem—no matter how big the knot.
