The Cable Behind The TV

Max loved his dog Barnaby more than anything in the world. Barnaby was a golden retriever with floppy ears and a tail that never stopped wagging.

One rainy afternoon, Max was crawling behind the television to find his lost baseball when he noticed something strange. The thick black cable that usually plugged into the wall wasn't just a cable anymore—it was shimmering, glowing with soft golden light.

Curious, Max gave it a gentle tug. Suddenly, he and Barnaby were pulled through the wall like it was made of mist!

They landed in a meadow unlike anything Max had ever seen. The grass was rainbow-colored, and the sky swirled with cotton candy clouds. But what amazed Max most was what he saw in the center of the meadow.

Children were playing baseball—but this wasn't ordinary baseball. When someone hit the ball, it would burst into sparkles and grant wishes! A girl with silver hair caught Max's eye and waved.

"Hi! I'm Luna!" she called, tossing him a baseball that felt warm in his hands. "Want to play?"

Max nodded enthusiastically. He threw the ball, and when Luna hit it, hundreds of butterflies burst forth instead of sparkles. They tickled Barnaby's nose, making him sneeze joyfully.

"Every person brings something special to the game," Luna explained. "You made butterflies appear! That means your magic is about bringing joy."

They played until the sun began to set, and Luna taught Max that the real magic wasn't in the cable or the baseball game—it was in friendship.

"The cable only appears for children who need a friend," Luna said softly. "And now you have one forever."

When Max returned through the glowing cable, baseball clutched in his hand, he discovered Luna was right. The magic cable remained hidden behind his television, but Luna appeared in his dreams, and sometimes, when he looked closely at the baseball, he could see it sparkle with rainbow light.

Barnaby would always bark happily at the television, as if remembering their magical adventure together.

Max learned that the best friends can appear in the most unexpected places—even behind a cable in the wall.
