The Bull Who Walked on Water
In a sunny village where the river curved like a silver ribbon, there lived a gentle bull named Barnaby. Unlike other bulls who loved to run and chase, Barnaby loved to sit quietly by the water's edge, watching the dragonflies dance.
One hot afternoon, Barnaby discovered something magical—a perfect golden papaya growing on a small island in the middle of the river. The papaya glowed like a tiny sun, and its sweet fragrance floated across the water.
Barnaby wanted to taste that papaya more than anything. But how could a heavy bull reach an island in the deep water?
"I'll help you!" squeaked a small voice. It was Pip, a brave little mouse who lived in the tall grass. "But we must ask the water spirits first."
Pip taught Barnaby an ancient secret: if you approach water with kindness in your heart, it will support you. Barnaby closed his eyes and thought only gentle thoughts—of sunny meadows, of fluttering butterflies, of sharing food with friends.
To his amazement, when he stepped onto the water, it held him firm! The rippling surface became solid beneath his hooves, shimmering like polished glass.
Barnaby walked across the river as if on a hidden bridge. When he reached the papaya, he didn't eat it all. Instead, he broke it into pieces and shared them with Pip, the fish, the birds, and all the creatures who had gathered to watch the miracle.
The water's magic faded as the sun set, but something wonderful remained. From that day on, whenever Barnaby or his friends needed to cross the river, all they had to do was remember: kindness makes impossible things possible.
And somewhere in that magical river, the spirit of the papaya lived on, planting new seeds of friendship wherever the water flowed.
