The Bull Who Swam with Stars

Lily loved swimming more than anything. Every evening, she'd slip into her neighborhood pool just as the sun began to set. The water would turn all golden and sparkly, like swimming through liquid sunshine.

But Lily's favorite time was when the pool reflected the first stars of the night. The water became a perfect mirror, showing constellations she'd learned about from her grandmother. Orion with his belt of three bright stars. The Big Dipper, like a giant ladle scooping up the darkness.

And then there was Taurus — the bull constellation.

One magical summer evening, Lily was floating on her back, staring at the reflection of Taurus in the water. The bull seemed to be swimming among the stars, its horns glowing softly. How wonderful it would be, Lily thought, to swim with a star bull.

The water began to shimmer. Bubbles rose around her. Suddenly, a magnificent creature emerged from the depths — a bull made entirely of stardust and moonlight, with eyes like twin planets and a coat that sparkled like a galaxy.

"Hello, Lily," the bull said, its voice sounding like wind chimes. "I've been watching you swim. You look so happy in the water."

Lily could only stare in wonder. "You... you're real?"

"On this night, with this pool reflecting my constellation just right, I can visit," the star bull explained. "Would you like to go swimming together?"

Together they swam — Lily with her practiced strokes, the bull with graceful movements that left trails of glitter. They played tag among the reflections. They raced from one end of the pool to the other. They floated on their backs and made up stories for every star.

"I wish this could last forever," Lily whispered as the first hint of dawn colored the sky.

"Everything changes, little friend," the bull said gently. "But remember: magic lives in kindness, friendship, and moments of wonder. Carry this memory in your heart, and you'll never really be alone."

The bull dissolved into sparkles that swirled upward, returning to become part of Taurus in the brightening sky.

Lily climbed out of the pool, her skin tingling with stardust. She knew she'd never forget the night she went swimming with a star bull. And whenever she swam after that, she felt a little more magical, like the water itself remembered their midnight adventure.

Some things are only visible to those who believe in magic — and Lily, more than anyone, knew that the most wonderful adventures are the ones that find you when you least expect them, especially when you're doing something you love.
