The Bull Who Swam with Stars

Finnegan was a small orange goldfish who lived in a round glass bowl on a windowsill. Every day, he would press his nose against the glass and watch the world outside. Some might call it nosey. Finnegan called it being a spy.

He spied on birds building nests. He spied on children playing tag. And most of all, he spied on the big brown bull named Barnaby who lived in the field next door. Barnaby always looked so lonely, grazing by himself while the cows chatted together in a group.

"I wish I could make friends with him," Finnegan sighed, blowing bubbles that floated to the surface of his bowl.

One magical night, when the moon was as round and silver as a new coin, something amazing happened. Finnegan's bowl began to glow. Suddenly, he wasn't just swimming in water anymore—he was swimming through the air, enclosed in a shimmering bubble of magic!

He floated right through the open window and down to the field, where Barnaby was looking up at the stars.

"Hello?" Finnegan called out.

Barnaby jumped. "Who said that?"

"It's me—Finnegan! I'm the goldfish who's been spying on you from my windowsill."

To Finnegan's surprise, Barnaby didn't look angry. He looked delighted. "I've seen you too! You always look so happy, swimming around in your little ocean. Sometimes I wished I could swim like that."

"Well," said Finnegan, "tonight, anything is possible. Look!" And with a swish of his tail, he showed Barnaby how the magic bubble let them both swim together through the starlight, leaping over fences and diving through constellations.

They swam and played until dawn, the most unlikely friends in the world. And every night after that, Finnegan and Barnaby would meet under the stars, swimming through stardust and laughter.

Finnegan learned something wonderful that night: the best friends aren't always the ones you expect. Sometimes you just have to look beyond the glass and say hello.
