The Bull Who Swam Stars
Lily loved exploring the forest behind her house. One hot afternoon, she followed a sparkling path she'd never noticed before. It led to a hidden clearing where a crystal pool shimmered like liquid sapphire.
To her surprise, a massive black bull stood beside the water. But this wasn't an ordinary bull—his horns sparkled like captured moonbeams, and his eyes held ancient kindness. The bull didn't charge or snort. Instead, he dipped one hoof into the pool, and the water began to glow.
"Hello, little friend," the bull spoke in a voice like gentle thunder. "I've been waiting for someone pure of heart."
Lily's eyes widened. "You can talk?"
"I am Orion, last of the StarSwimming Bulls. Long ago, my kind carried stars from the sky to replenish earth's magic." He sighed. "But now I'm too old to climb to the heavens. The pool's magic fades, and soon it will become ordinary water."
"What can we do?" Lily asked, her heart aching for her new friend.
Orion nudged a glowing orange stone near the pool's edge. "This is the last Star Vitamin. It gives strength to one who believes in magic. If you swallow it, you'll gain the power to carry stars. But you must choose willingly."
Lily thought of her grandmother's stories about belief and courage. She thought of how lonely Orion must be. Without hesitation, she popped the glowing stone into her mouth.
Warmth spread through her body. She felt light as a cloud, strong as a mountain. Orion lowered his mighty head. "Climb onto my back, friend. Together we'll harvest the stars."
That night, under a canopy of twinkling lights, Lily and Orion soared into the sky. She plucked stars like golden apples, tucking them into her dress. They returned to the pool, where she released each star into the water. The pool blazed with renewed magic, sending sparkles throughout the forest.
"Thank you," Orion whispered, nosing her hand. "You've restored magic to the land. And gained a friend for life."
Lily smiled, understanding the true magic wasn't the vitamin or the stars—it was friendship, trust, and believing in something bigger than yourself.
Every sunset, she returns to the pool. Together, she and Orion swim among the stars, guardians of magic and best friends forever.
