The Bull Who Swam Stars

Leo was a boy who collected curious things. Smooth stones, shiny bottle caps, feathers with unusual colors. But his most special collection lived in his dreams.

One hot afternoon, Leo sat by the old swimming pool in his backyard. The water hadn't been used in years. Green vines covered the fence, and dragonflies zoomed like tiny helicopters.

"This pool needs magic," Leo whispered.

That's when he saw the bull.

Not a scary bull. This one was small, no bigger than a golden retriever, with fur the color of sunrise and eyes that held entire galaxies. The bull trotted to the pool's edge and nodded, as if greeting an old friend.

"Hello," said Leo, his heart fluttering like a trapped butterfly.

The bull nudged Leo's hand with a warm, wet nose. Then, to Leo's amazement, the bull spoke—not with words, but with pictures that bloomed in Leo's mind like flowers.

*My name is Cosmo. I guard the star pools.*

Cosmo pointed with his horn at a thick cable that snaked through the vines, disappearing into the pool's depths.

"What's that cable?" Leo asked.

*It connects your world to the magic realm,* Cosmo explained. *But someone has unplugged it. No wonder this place feels forgotten.*

Leo grasped the cable. It hummed with energy, vibrating against his palm like a purring cat. He followed it to a small, dusty box near the pool house. Inside sat a single glowing vitamin—the color of moonlight—that powered the entire connection.

"The magic vitamin!" Leo gasped. "It's almost dead."

*Only friendship can recharge it,* Cosmo said wisely. *True friendship is the most powerful magic.*

Leo understood. He'd been lonely lately, missing his friends who moved away. The pool reflected his sadness.

He placed the vitamin carefully back into its slot and thought of his happiest moments—laughing with friends, sharing secrets, helping each other. The vitamin began to glow brighter, pulsing with golden light.

Suddenly, the murky pool water transformed. It became crystal clear, revealing not a bottom, but an entire universe beneath the surface. Stars twinkled underwater. Colorful fish made of constellations swam in graceful loops.

*Jump in with me,* Cosmo invited. *

Leo took the bull's hoof, and together they plunged into the star pool. They didn't get wet. Instead, they floated through space, past planets made of candy and comets trailing rainbows.

They met creatures made of stardust and kindness. They rode on moonbeams like surfboards. They collected wishes from falling stars and planted them like seeds, watching them bloom into beautiful friendships.

When they finally climbed out, hours had passed—but Leo felt energized, as if he'd slept for a week.

*Remember, Leo,* Cosmo whispered, beginning to fade, *friendship is the real vitamin that makes life magical. Keep your heart open to new friends, and magic will always find you.*

The bull dissolved into sparkles that swirled up toward the evening sky.

The next day, Leo's mom came outside. "Leo! The pool—it looks brand new!"

Indeed, the water was sparkling clean. The cable hummed with gentle energy. And that night, when Leo looked up at the stars, he could almost see a small bull leaping across constellations, leaving trails of friendship magic wherever he went.

Leo smiled, touching his pocket where he'd found a small, glowing vitamin—a gift from Cosmo. It reminded him that magic was real, as long as you had friends to share it with.

And from that day on, Leo never felt lonely again. The star pool had taught him the most important lesson of all: the best magic isn't found in faraway places. It lives inside every heart that's open to friendship.
