The Bull Who Saw With His Heart
Barnaby was no ordinary bull. While others grazed contentedly in green pastures, Barnaby loved to explore. One sunny afternoon, he trotted behind an old stone wall and discovered something magical—a secret garden with a crystal pool that shimmered like liquid diamonds.
"Hello there," whispered a mysterious voice. Barnaby turned to see a golden sphinx perched on a marble pedestal. Unlike fierce sphinxes from stories, this one had kind eyes and a gentle smile.
"I'm Cleo," she said. "Most animals run away when they see me. They think I'll ask impossible riddles."
Barnaby nodded wisely. "My grandma always said, 'Never judge someone by their wings or riddles.'"
Cleo's eyes sparkled. "Would you like to play padel? I have enchanted paddles!"
They played the most wonderful game. The ball glowed pink and blue as it sailed through the air. When they grew tired, they sat by the magic pool. Suddenly, something green and wobbly emerged from the bushes.
"A zombie!" gasped Cleo, hiding behind Barnaby.
The creature looked sad. "Please don't run. I'm Zedd, and I'm NOT scary. I just want friends."
Barnaby noticed Zedd carried flowers. "You're not scary at all. You're a gardener!"
Zedd smiled crookedly. "I love growing things. But everyone runs away before I can show them my prize-winning pumpkins."
The three new friends spent the afternoon playing padel, eating magical fruit from the garden, and taking turns making wishes in the pool. When the sun began to set, they made a promise.
"Every Tuesday," said Cleo. "We'll meet here, no matter what anyone else thinks."
Barnaby walked home that evening with a heart full of joy. He had learned something important—the best friends aren't the ones who look like you, but the ones who see you with their heart.
And every Tuesday, if you listen closely, you might hear the sound of laughter, bouncing balls, and three very different friends having the most magical adventures together.
