The Bull Who Sang in the Palm Tree
Lily loved visiting her grandmother's house in Florida. Best of all, she loved the enormous palm tree that swayed in the backyard breeze. Its trunk was as thick as a kitchen table, and its fronds whispered secrets when the wind blew through them.
One afternoon, while playing treasure hunt, Lily spotted something shiny half-buried in the soft dirt beneath the palm. She dug carefully with both hands until her fingers touched something smooth and cool — an iPhone! But it wasn't like any phone she'd ever seen.
The moment Lily pressed the home button, it didn't show apps or games. Instead, tiny musical notes floated across the screen, and a voice sang, "Hello there, hello there!"
"Who said that?" Lily whispered, looking around.
"Down here! In the tree!"
Lily looked up into the palm tree. There, perched on the lowest frond, sat the most remarkable creature — a tiny bull no bigger than a teacup, with golden fur that gleamed in the sunlight. His horns curled like cinnamon sticks, and his nose was as pink as a flower.
"I'm Buster," said the bull, his voice coming through the magical iPhone. "I've lived in this palm tree for three hundred years. I've been waiting for someone kind-hearted to find my singing phone."
Lily's eyes went wide. "You can talk?"
"Only through my enchanted phone," Buster explained. "Long ago, a fairy gave it to me. She said when a kind child finds it, I'll finally have a friend to share my songs with."
For the rest of the summer, Lily visited Buster every day. Through the iPhone, he sang songs about brave knights and gentle giants, about talking stars and dancing flowers. His voice was deep and warm, like honey fresh from the comb.
One day, Lily brought her own phone to record Buster's songs. "Everyone should hear your beautiful music," she said.
But something wonderful happened — the moment she played Buster's songs for other children, their eyes filled with wonder. They started singing along, their voices joining his in perfect harmony.
Buster had found many friends at last.
That summer, Lily learned something important: sometimes the most unexpected treasures bring the greatest joy. And the smallest friends — even a tiny bull in a palm tree — can have the biggest songs in their hearts.
