The Bull Who Ran Like Lightning

Barnaby was not like other bulls. While his friends spent their days practicing head-butts and showing off their strength, Barnaby loved something different: spinach. Every morning, he'd sneak away to Farmer McGregor's garden and munch on the big, green leaves.

"Bulls don't eat vegetables!" snorted Bruno, the biggest bull in the pasture. "Bulls eat hay and grass!"

But Barnaby didn't care. He knew the spinach made him feel special—light on his hooves and full of energy. One afternoon, while munching his favorite snack, Barnaby spotted something amazing. A tiny rabbit was stuck in the river, struggling against the current!

Without thinking, Barnaby leaped forward. His hooves barely touched the ground as he sprinted toward the river. He moved so fast that he left a trail of dust behind him. SNAP! A bolt of lightning struck nearby, but Barnaby kept running.

The other bulls gasped. "Look at him go! He's running like lightning!"

Barnaby reached the river just in time. He lowered his strong head and let the frightened rabbit climb onto his nose, then carried the little creature safely to shore. The rabbit's mother thanked him with tears in her eyes.

"How did you move so fast?" asked Bruno, who had never seen anything like it.

Barnaby smiled and gestured to his patch of spinach. "It gives me magic power. Want to try some?"

Soon, all the bulls were sneaking spinach leaves. They discovered that being strong wasn't just about muscles—it was about having a kind heart and the energy to help others. And Barnaby? He became a hero, proving that being different could be the greatest strength of all.

Now whenever storms roll across the valley and lightning flashes, the old bulls tell their calves about the day their friend Barnaby ran faster than lightning, all because he followed his heart—and loved his spinach.
