The Bull Who Pitched Dreams

Timmy was the smallest boy in his neighborhood, and he hated baseball. Every time he stepped up to the plate, the other kids laughed. He always struck out.

One Saturday, Timmy wandered into the woods behind his house, farther than he'd ever gone before. There, hidden among ancient oak trees, he discovered something magical—a crystal-clear pool that shimmered like liquid silver, even though there was no sun shining on it.

"Hello there," said a deep, gentle voice.

Timmy jumped! Standing beside the pool was the biggest bull he'd ever seen. But this bull wasn't scary. His fur was golden brown with patches that looked like clouds, and his eyes were kind and bright.

"I'm Barnaby," the bull said softly. "This is the Dream Pool. It shows what's in your heart."

Timmy peeked into the water. Instead of his reflection, he saw himself hitting a home run!

"You wish you could play baseball," Barnaby said wisely. "Everyone has something special inside them. Sometimes it just needs a little help coming out."

The bull reached into the pool and pulled out a glowing baseball. "This is a dream ball. It will go where your heart wants it to go—not where your fears tell it it can't."

Barnaby taught Timmy to swing. "Imagine the ball going exactly where you want," he said. "Your body knows what to do. Trust yourself."

Timmy practiced with the magical bull all afternoon. By sunset, he was hitting the ball every time!

"Remember," Barnaby said as Timmy headed home, "the magic wasn't the ball. The magic was inside you all along. I just helped you find it."

The next day, Timmy stepped up to the plate at his neighborhood game. The other kids giggled. But Timmy closed his eyes and remembered Barnaby's words. He imagined the ball flying far.

CRACK! Timmy opened his eyes just in time to see his baseball soar over the fence—a home run!

Timmy ran back to the woods to thank Barnaby, but the golden bull and the Dream Pool were gone. In their place was a single baseball, and a note that read: "Believe in yourself, and magic will always find you."

From that day on, Timmy was never afraid to try. He knew that somewhere, a kind bull was smiling down at him, and that the real magic had been inside his heart all along.
