The Bull Who Made Wishes

Lily couldn't sleep. The summer moon was too bright, calling her name through her window. So she tiptoed outside, following its silver light into the woods behind her house.

That's when she found it—a magical pool, shimmering like liquid stars. The water glowed softly, and tiny lights danced above its surface like friendly fireflies.

"Who goes there?" croaked a voice.

Lily jumped! From the shadows emerged a creature—shaggy fur, tangled mane, walking all slow and sleepy. "I'm the zombie of these woods," it said with a yawn. "I guard the magic pool. But don't worry—I only eat dreams, not children!"

Lily giggled. The zombie wasn't scary at all! It was just a sleepy guardian with kind eyes.

Suddenly, crashing came from the trees. A massive bull burst into the clearing—horns sharp, hooves thundering. Lily's heart pounded. But instead of charging, the bull stopped at the pool's edge and closed its eyes, making a soft wishing sound.

The zombie nodded wisely. "Every full moon, the bull comes to wish. He wishes for something surprising."

"What?" Lily whispered.

"He wishes to be gentle," said the zombie. "And look—his wish makes the pool glow brighter!"

And it did! The magic pool sparkled so brilliantly that Lily gasped. The bull opened his eyes and looked at Lily. "Thank you for seeing me," he said softly. "Most children run away."

"I'm not afraid anymore," Lily smiled. "You're not scary. You're magical."

The zombie patted her shoulder with a shaggy paw. "The pool shows what's in your heart, little one. You saw kindness, not fear. That's the real magic."

Lily wished her own wish into the glowing water—that everyone could see the magic in unexpected places, just like she had.

When she climbed back into bed, Lily understood: the scariest-looking things can be the most wonderful, if you're brave enough to really see them. And somewhere in the woods, a zombie, a bull, and a magic pool were still glowing, waiting for the next dreamer to find them.
