The Bull Who Loved to Swim
Barnaby was no ordinary bull. While the other cows in the pasture chewed grass and swatted flies, Barnaby spent his days gazing longingly at the shimmering pond beyond the fence.
"Bulls don't swim," grumbled old Farmer McGregor. "Bulls are for charging and stomping and being sturdy."
But Barnaby had a secret. Every morning when the sun painted the sky pink and orange, he would creep to the edge of the pond. There, he made friends with the most magical creatures—dozens of golden goldfish that flashed like underwater stars.
"Hello, friends!" Barnaby would whisper, and the goldfish would dart to the surface, their scales catching the sunlight.
One particularly hot afternoon, the pond looked so cool and inviting that Barnaby couldn't resist. He stepped into the water, feeling it ripple around his hooves. Deeper and deeper he waded until—splash! His massive black body disappeared beneath the surface.
The goldfish didn't swim away. Instead, they gathered around him, creating a swirling galaxy of gold and orange. Barnaby felt lighter than air, floating gracefully despite his size. He discovered that swimming felt like flying, like dancing, like pure magic.
For weeks, Barnaby returned to his secret swimming spot. He learned to glide through the water alongside his golden friends, who taught him that being big didn't mean being clumsy. In the water, he was graceful and free.
But one day, Farmer McGregor caught him.
"Well, I never," the farmer muttered, watching in astonishment as Barnaby performed elegant swimming laps while goldfish swam circles around his horns. The farmer's surprise turned to wonder, and then to a smile.
"Guess even bulls have dreams," McGregor said, leaving Barnaby to his swimming.
Barnaby learned that sometimes the bravest thing you can do is be yourself—even when yourself likes doing things that bulls aren't supposed to do. And in that magical pond, surrounded by flashing golden friends, he was exactly who he was meant to be: a bull who loved to swim.
