The Bull Who Loved Rainbows
Lily had the most extraordinary hair anyone had ever seen. It wasn't just curly—it was magical! Whenever she laughed, her hair would shimmer like sunshine, and when she was sad, it would turn the color of storm clouds. Her hair had its own personality, bouncing and wiggling as if it was alive.
Every summer, Lily took the cable car up Mount Misty to visit her grandmother. The cable car was like a little red basket that climbed up, up, up into the clouds, swinging gently over valleys of wildflowers and streams that sparkled like diamonds.
One day, Lily heard a deep, rumbling sound coming from a meadow near the mountaintop. Curious, she followed the noise and discovered a enormous bull with a coat as brown as chocolate and horns that curved like crescent moons. But this bull was crying great, glistening tears.
"What's wrong?" Lily asked softly.
"Nobody wants to be my friend because I'm so big and scary-looking," the bull sniffled. "But I'm actually very gentle. I love flowers and butterflies and rainbows."
Lily smiled and her hair began to glow with all the colors of the rainbow. She reached out and patted the bull's soft nose. "Would you like to see something magical?"
She closed her eyes and thought of beautiful things—sunshine, meadows, friendship. Her magical hair began to weave itself into the most gorgeous rainbow, arching right over the meadow where the bull lived.
The bull's eyes widened with wonder. "It's beautiful!"
"And it's all yours," said Lily. "Whenever you feel lonely, just look up, and remember that somewhere, a little girl with magical hair is your friend."
From that day on, the bull was never lonely again. And every summer when Lily took the cable car up the mountain, her hair would glow extra bright, because she couldn't wait to see her best friend—the bull who loved rainbows.
The bull learned that true friends look past appearances and see what's in your heart. And Lily learned that kindness and imagination can create magic anywhere, even on a lonely mountaintop.
