The Bull Who Loved Padel

Lily loved playing padel in her driveway. Every afternoon after school, she'd grab her neon-blue racket and hit the ball against the garage wall. *Bop. Bop. Bop.* The sound was like music to her ears.

One day, something magical happened. Lily's ball bounced extra high and disappeared behind the old oak tree. When she ran to fetch it, she gasped. There, nestled among the roots, sat a tiny golden pyramid no bigger than her palm. It shimmered in the sunlight like liquid honey.

Lily picked it up, and suddenly—*POOF!*—a puff of glittery smoke swirled around her. When it cleared, standing before her was a small bull with cocoa-colored spots and the kindest eyes she'd ever seen.

"Hello!" the bull said, his voice deep and warm. "I'm Barnaby. I've been sleeping in that pyramid for three hundred years!"

Lily's mouth fell open. "You can talk?"

"And I've always wanted to learn padel!" Barnaby's tail wiggled with excitement. "I watched you from the pyramid. You're wonderful! Will you teach me?"

So Lily taught Barnaby how to hold the racket between his hooves. At first, he tripped over his own feet. *Thump!* The ball hit his nose. *Bonk!* He swung and missed completely.

Barnaby sighed. "Maybe I'm too old to learn new things."

"Never!" Lily said firmly. "My coach says practice makes progress. Want to try again?"

Barnaby nodded. They practiced every afternoon. Barnaby learned to bend his knees (which looked very silly). He learned to keep his eye on the ball. And slowly, wonderfully, he started getting better.

One month later, Barnaby hit a perfect shot that sailed right over Lily's head. They both cheered and danced around the driveway.

"You did it!" Lily hugged her friend. "You never gave up!"

"Because you believed in me," Barnaby said, his eyes shining. "Friendship is the best magic of all."

That night, Barnaby curled up beside the golden pyramid in Lily's room. They both drifted to sleep dreaming of tomorrow's game, knowing that the best adventures are the ones we share with friends who help us grow.
