The Bull Who Loved Magic
Lily discovered the secret behind the old garden wall on a Tuesday afternoon, when the sun painted everything gold. There, in a hidden clearing, stood the most surprising sight—a giant black **bull**, fast asleep in a patch of sunlight.
But this wasn't an ordinary bull. His horns were twisted like candy canes, and when he snored, little puffs of rainbow sparkles floated from his nose. Lily had never seen anything so magical.
"Hello?" she whispered.
The bull opened one eye. It was the color of emeralds and full of ancient wisdom. "Hello, small human. I am Barnaby, and I guard the **pool** of wonders."
Lily gasped. Behind Barnaby was a pool so clear it looked like liquid glass. But the most amazing part was what grew around it—leaves of emerald **spinach** that shimmered like stars.
"Watch," said Barnaby. He dipped his massive hoof into the **water**, and ripples of silver danced across the surface. Where the ripples touched the spinach, the leaves glowed brighter and tiny musical notes floated into the air.
"It's beautiful!" Lily cried. "But who do you share it with?"
Barnaby looked sad. "No one. I was told bulls should be fierce and scary, so I stayed here alone. But I've always wanted a **friend**."
Lily smiled and reached out her hand. "I'll be your friend, Barnaby. And I know others who would love to see this too."
Every day that summer, Lily brought children to the secret garden. They learned that Barnaby wasn't scary at all—he let them braid flowers into his tail and told them stories about the stars. The magical spinach made the silliest songs when eaten, and the pool's water showed you your happiest memories.
"The best magic," Barnaby told them, "is sharing wonder with others. That's what makes it grow."
And so the bull who thought he was too scary for friends became the guardian of the most magical garden in the world, teaching everyone that the bravest thing you can do is open your heart.
