The Bull Who Loved Green Dreams

Leo hated spinach. Every Tuesday, his grandmother placed a pile of green leaves on his plate, and every Tuesday, Leo found creative ways to make it disappear—into his napkin, under the table, once even behind the sofa cushion.

One afternoon, Leo sneaked into the backyard to bury his spinach in the garden. That's when he heard the low, rumbling sound.

Behind the old oak tree stood the biggest bull Leo had ever seen, with golden horns that shimmered in the sunlight. But this wasn't Farmer McGregor's bull. This bull was wearing something around its neck—a tiny glass bottle filled with green liquid.

"You're wasting the magic," the bull said gently.

Leo's mouth fell open. "You can talk?"

"I can do many things," said the bull. "But I need your help. Follow me."

The bull led Leo through a hidden path in the woods until they reached a crystal-clear pond. In the center sat the largest goldfish Leo had ever seen, with scales like tiny rainbows.

"Young Leo," the goldfish bubbled, "we've been waiting for someone brave enough to try the Green Dream Soup."

"What's that?" Leo asked.

"Spinach, properly prepared with magic and kindness," the bull explained. "It gives you the power to see hidden things. But only if you eat it willingly."

Leo looked at his pocket, where the soggy spinach sat wrapped in a napkin. He thought about how he'd never actually tasted it—just assumed he would hate it.

"Okay," Leo said slowly. "But can you make it taste like... adventure?"

The goldfish laughed, sending ripples across the pond. "Adventure already tastes like everything. You just have to open your mouth."

The bull breathed on the spinach, and suddenly it smelled like morning dew and possibility. Leo took a bite. It wasn't bad at all. In fact, it tasted like sunshine.

The world shifted. Leo could now see tiny sprites dancing in the grass, hear the trees whispering stories, and notice the bull's golden horns were actually made of solidified light.

"Every Tuesday," the bull said, "bring your spinach here. Together, we'll feed the magic that keeps the forest alive."

Leo grinned, already planning next week's adventure. Some things, he discovered, were worth trying—especially when they came with friends like a talking bull and a wise goldfish.

And from that day on, Leo never hid his spinach again.
