The Bull Who Loved Games
Barnaby was no ordinary bull. While the other cows on Sunnybrook Farm chewed grass and slept, Barnaby dreamed of adventure. His favorite spot was behind the old wooden fence where he watched children play.
Every afternoon, the neighborhood kids gathered for their favorite games. Barnaby's eyes widened when he saw them playing baseball—he loved the way the ball sailed through the air like a shooting star. 'I wish I could play too,' he sighed, his big brown eyes filled with longing.
One magical morning, something extraordinary happened. A sparkle of fairy dust drifted down from the clouds, landing right on Barnaby's nose. Suddenly, he felt lighter than air! His hooves transformed into feet, and his massive bull body became the size of a boy's. Barnaby could finally join the children!
'Hi! I'm Barnaby,' he said nervously, approaching the playground.
Lily, a girl with pigtails and a kind smile, handed him a racquet. 'We're playing padel today! It's like tennis but with walls.' She showed him how to hit the ball against the glass court.
Barnaby discovered he was a natural! His bull strength made every hit powerful and precise. But something magical happened—whenever Barnaby played, the ball glowed with golden light, making everyone laugh with joy.
One day, the children decided to play baseball again. Barnaby stepped up to the plate, his heart pounding. The pitcher threw the ball, and—CRACK! Barnaby hit it so far that it soared over the farmhouse and into the rainbow!
'Wow!' shouted the children. But Barnaby felt worried. 'I broke your ball!'
Lily patted his shoulder. 'That's the best hit ever! You're amazing, Barnaby.'
That evening, the fairy dust faded, and Barnaby returned to being a bull. But something had changed. The children came to visit him every day, bringing stories of their games. Barnaby realized something wonderful: he didn't need to be a boy to have friends. He had found something even better—a friendship that would last forever.
And sometimes, if you look closely at Sunnybrook Farm, you might still see the children playing padel with a very special bull who hits the ball with just the right amount of magic.
