The Bull Who Loved Baseball
Every afternoon, young Leo would climb to his treehouse with his telescope. He loved to spy on the tiny island across the blue water. But this wasn't sneaky spying — it was curious spying, the kind that discovers wonderful secrets.
One sunny day, Leo couldn't believe his eyes! On that island, a massive brown bull was playing baseball all by himself. The bull would hit the ball with a homemade bat, and somehow, it always landed back in his hooves. How?
Leo paddled his wooden boat across the shimmering water to investigate. When he reached the island's shore, the bull stopped playing and looked at him with gentle, curious eyes.
"Hello there!" Leo called out bravely. "I'm Leo. I saw you playing baseball from across the water. You're amazing!"
The bull nodded happily and pointed upward with his nose. Leo looked up and gasped. Stretching from a tall tree to another tree was a long, strong cable. The bull had created a clever pulley system! When he hit the baseball, it would fly into a net hanging from the cable, and the bull could pull it back using a rope attached to the cable.
"That's brilliant!" Leo exclaimed. "I've never seen anything like it. Do you want to play together?"
The bull's eyes twinkled with joy. For the rest of the afternoon, Leo and the bull played the most wonderful baseball game ever. The bull would hit the ball high into the air, Leo would chase it across the soft grass, and together they would laugh as the cable system worked its magic.
As the sun began to set, Leo realized something important. Sometimes, the best friends come in the most unexpected packages, and wonderful discoveries are waiting for anyone curious enough to look.
"I'll come back tomorrow!" Leo promised as he paddled home. The bull nodded, already planning new baseball tricks to share with his new best friend.
And every day after that, Leo learned something new: true friendship doesn't need words — it just needs an open heart, a sense of wonder, and perhaps a love for baseball shared between a boy and a very clever bull.
