The Bull Who Loved Baseball

Leo lived in a house filled with dusty old things. His grandfather had collected everything – rusty keys, broken clocks, and boxes of mysterious treasures. But Leo's favorite discovery sat in the corner of the attic: an ancient baseball with stitches that sparkled like tiny stars.

One sunny afternoon, Leo tossed the magical ball toward the old oak tree in his backyard. But instead of hitting the trunk, the ball stopped in mid-air and spun like a mini tornado. Poof! A cloud of golden dust swirled, and out stepped a bull – not an ordinary bull, but one no bigger than a shoe, with fur the color of honey and a smile that stretched from ear to ear.

"Hello, friend!" the tiny bull said, his voice sounding like wind chimes. "I've been waiting inside that baseball for fifty years!"

Leo's eyes grew wide. "You can talk?"

"Of course!" The bull puffed out his chest. "I'm Barnaby, and I love baseball more than anything. Want to play?"

Barnaby grew bigger with every throw – first the size of a dog, then a pony, until he stood as tall as Leo himself. They played catch until sunset, Barnaby's hooves making soft *thuds* against the grass. The other kids in the neighborhood stopped to stare, but instead of running away, they asked to join.

Soon, Leo's empty backyard became the most magical baseball field in town. Barnaby taught them that being different was what made someone special, and that the best friends aren't always the ones you expect.

"Real friends," Barnaby said one evening, watching the stars appear, "are the ones who believe in your magic, even when you can't see it yourself."

Leo smiled, hugging his bull friend tight. The baseball sat on the shelf, ready for tomorrow's game, but the real magic wasn't inside the ball at all – it was right here, in the friendship between a lonely boy and a bull who just wanted to play.

And somewhere, in attics everywhere, magical balls waited for children to believe.
