The Bull Who Loved Baseball
Leo loved playing baseball in his backyard. Every day after school, he'd practice pitching against the big wooden fence. One afternoon, his favorite ball sailed over the fence and disappeared into the neighbor's yard.
Leo climbed over the fence and found himself in a magical garden he'd never noticed before. In the center sparkled a crystal pool of blue water, surrounded by swaying palm trees that seemed to whisper in the breeze.
Beside the pool sat the biggest bull Leo had ever seen—but this bull wasn't scary. He wore a dusty baseball cap and held a mitt between his hooves.
"You found my ball!" the bull said, his voice warm and rumbly like thunder.
Leo's eyes went wide. "You can talk?"
"Of course," said the bull. "I'm Barnaby. Would you like to play catch?"
For hours, Leo and Barnaby played the most wonderful game of catch. The bull was surprisingly gentle, tossing the ball with precision. The palm trees cheered, and the water in the pool sparkled like diamonds whenever someone made a good catch.
"Why have I never seen this place before?" Leo asked as the sun began to set.
Barnaby smiled. "This garden appears only for children who truly love the game. You have a pure heart, Leo. That's why the magic found you."
As Leo climbed back over the fence, Barnaby called, "Remember—magic lives wherever you find joy."
The next day, the neighbor's yard looked ordinary. But sometimes, when Leo plays baseball, he sees a palm tree sway just a little more than the others, and he knows Barnaby is watching, smiling that warm, rumbly smile.
Now Leo understands: the best magic isn't in special places—it's in the friendships we make and the joy we share with others.
