The Bull Who Lost His Stars
Lily loved her dad's old iPhone. It didn't make calls anymore, but sometimes it showed sparkly pictures that weren't there before. One rainy afternoon, the screen glowed golden, and a hand reached out—not scary, but curious.
"Hello?" said Lily, not scared at all.
A boy climbed through the screen. He looked pale and wobbly, like wet pasta. "I'm a zombie," he said, "but not the scary kind. I'm just... forgotten. All the stories forgot about friendly zombies like me."
Lily smiled. "I'm Lily. Want to play?"
The zombie boy's eyes widened. "Play? Nobody ever wanted to play with me!" But then his smile faded. "I can't stay. I have to help my friend." He pointed up. "He's stuck."
Through the screen, Lily saw something magnificent—a bull made entirely of stars, his golden horns tangled in telephone wires.
"That's Taurus," Lily gasped. "He's a constellation!"
"He fell while chasing a comet," the zombie explained. "Now he can't get back to the sky. Other kids run away when they see me. Will you help?"
Lily grabbed her flashlight. "We'll need to guide him!"
Together, they crept outside. The zombie boy shimmered in the rain as he helped untangle the star-bull's horns. Lily counted the stars on his forehead—exactly seven, like in her astronomy book.
"Thank you," Taurus rumbled, his voice sounding like distant thunder. "I was so afraid I'd never shine again."
"Nobody should be forgotten," Lily said firmly. "Not even zombies or fallen stars."
She used her iPhone screen to reflect light, creating a brilliant path back to the heavens. Taurus climbed higher and higher, each hoof-step leaving a trail of sparkles. When he reached his place in the sky, he twinkled extra bright—three winks in a row.
The zombie boy glowed too, his pale skin turning warm and rosy. "I'm not forgotten anymore," he whispered, diving back through the iPhone screen.
Lily's dad found her outside, waving at the sky. "What are you doing, sweetie?"
"Just making friends," she said, smiling as Taurus twinkled and her iPhone showed one last, magical picture: a zombie, a girl, and a bull, all dancing among the stars.
That night, Lily learned that magic lives in unexpected places—even in old phones and lonely hearts—and that everyone deserves to shine bright.
