The Bull Who Hit Stars
Emma loved summer evenings, especially when her grandpa told stories under the twinkling sky. Tonight, she clutched her old iPhone, using its camera to zoom at the stars.
"Look, Emma!" Grandpa pointed. "See that bull shape? That's Taurus the Bull. He's been in the sky for thousands of years."
Emma squinted. The stars really did look like a bull, with horns pointing upward. Suddenly, her iPhone screen flickered with an unusual golden glow. A tiny baseball materialized on the screen, rolling across the glass.
"Whoa!" Emma jumped.
The baseball wasn't just on her screen. A real baseball—glowing softly—plopped into her palm from nowhere. Grandpa's eyes widened.
Then they heard it: a mighty snort from above.
Emma looked up. The constellation Taurus was moving! The great bull made of stars was descending, his coat shimmering like moonlight, his horns crowned with stardust.
"You found my baseball!" the Bull rumbled kindly. "I've been playing catch with Orion for centuries, but I keep losing it to Earth."
Emma's hands trembled as she held out the glowing baseball. "You... you play baseball in the sky?"
The Star Bull laughed, a warm sound like distant thunder. "Every night! The stars love a good game. Would you like to play?"
Emma nodded, hardly believing this was real. The Bull tossed the baseball upward. It sailed higher and higher, turning into a streak of light. Emma's iPhone began to play music—cheerful, magical tunes.
Grandpa squeezed Emma's shoulder. "Sometimes, sweetheart, the best stories find us when we least expect them."
That night, Emma learned something wonderful: magic exists for those who believe. The Star Bull returned to his constellation, winking at her before settling back among his starry friends. And now, whenever Emma looks at Taurus, she waves. Sometimes, if she's lucky, she sees the baseball streak across the sky—a reminder that friendship can bridge the distance between earth and stars.
