The Bull Who Hit Magical Home Runs
Lily was the worst baseball player on her team. Every time she stepped up to bat, the ball would drop like a stone while she swung at nothing. The other kids didn't laugh, but Lily saw the disappointment in their eyes.
One hot afternoon, Lily took her favorite baseball to the old pasture behind her house. She just wanted to practice without anyone watching. That's when she saw him—a massive brown bull with gentle golden eyes, standing near an old fence.
Lily froze. Everyone knew bulls were dangerous. But this bull didn't charge. Instead, he nudged something with his nose—a wooden padel racket someone had left in the grass years ago.
"You want to play?" Lily whispered.
The bull nodded. Lily couldn't believe it!
She tossed her baseball gently. The bull swung the padel racket like it was made of air, and CRACK—the ball sailed into the clouds, sparkling like a tiny star. Then came running back down, landing softly in Lily's hands.
They played until sunset. The bull hit balls that turned into butterflies before returning. Lily ran and jumped, catching balls that smelled like rainbows. For the first time, she felt like a champion.
"I wish I could play like you always," Lily sighed as the sun dipped low.
The bull nudged her heart with his velvety nose. Lily felt something warm bloom inside—courage, friendship, magic.
At her next game, Lily remembered the bull's gentle eyes and how he'd made something scary into something wonderful. She stepped to the plate, took a deep breath, and swung.
WHAM!
The ball flew higher than ever, and as Lily ran around the bases, she winked at the distant pasture. Somewhere, a bull was watching, and Lily knew: the real magic wasn't in the hitting or running. It was believing in yourself—and finding friends in the most unexpected places.
