The Bull Who Guarded Stars
Lily loved exploring her grandmother's attic. One rainy afternoon, she found something strange tucked inside an old velvet hat. It wasn't a toy or a book—it was an ancient iphone with a cracked screen that still glowed with mysterious purple light.
When Lily touched the screen, ripples of water swirled across the glass. Suddenly, she wasn't in the attic anymore. She stood in a meadow where the grass shimmered like emeralds, and a stream flowed uphill!
A magnificent bull with fur the color of sunrise approached her. He wore a tiny golden hat between his horns, like a crown. "Welcome, Lily," the bull said softly. "I've been waiting for someone brave enough to find the iphone's magic."
"You can talk?" Lily gasped.
"All things speak when you listen with your heart," the bull replied mysteriously. "Come with me. I must show you something wonderful."
He led her through the meadow to a pyramid that wasn't made of stone—but of crystal, glowing from within like captured moonlight. Around it flowed a moat of starry water that reflected constellations not found in Earth's sky.
"This is the Pyramid of Lost Dreams," the bull explained. "Every dream that children forget flows here as water. My family has guarded it for a thousand years."
Lily touched the crystal pyramid with wonder. Images swirled inside—children flying, dancing unicorns, worlds made of candy. "It's beautiful!"
"But it's lonely," the bull said sadly. "Guardian duty is heavy. I have no one to share it with."
Lily thought of her grandmother, who lived alone. "My grandmother says she had magical adventures when she was young. Maybe she'd remember this place."
The bull's eyes lit up. "Your grandmother? She was my dearest friend! She gave me this hat before she forgot about magic."
Lily realized the iphone had been her grandmother's—a way to remember wonder. "She'd want to see you again."
"Will you come back?" the bull asked hopefully.
"Every week," Lily promised. "And I'll bring Grandma as soon as I can."
When she returned home, the attic looked ordinary again. But now Lily knew: magic existed for those who believed, and the best adventures were meant to be shared with friends—both old and new.
That night, Lily dreamed of crystal pyramids and bulls who guarded stars. And somewhere between sleeping and waking, she heard the bull whisper, "Thank you for remembering."
