The Bull Who Guarded Dreams

Lily was running through the golden wheat field, her pigtails flying behind her like two brown ribbons in the wind. She'd lost her favorite marble somewhere near the old stone pyramid at the edge of the farm—the one her grandpa said was built by magical creatures long ago.

As she got closer, something strange happened. The small stone pyramid began to glow with soft purple light, and from behind it stepped not a scary monster, but the most magnificent bull Lily had ever seen. Its fur shimmered like starlight, and its horns were twisted like candy canes.

"You're not going to hurt me, are you?" Lily asked, trembling.

The bull shook its massive head gently. "I am Leo," it said in a voice that sounded like thunder wrapped in velvet. "I guard the Dream Pyramid. Only those with pure hearts may enter."

Lily's eyes went wide. "Really? I lost my marble—"

"Sometimes," Leo said wisely, "when we lose something, we find something much more important."

Suddenly, Lily's pocket buzzed. She'd completely forgotten she'd borrowed her mom's old iPhone. The screen lit up by itself, showing not her usual apps, but a swirling portal of stars and moonbeams.

"The magic accepts you," Leo nodded, lowering his giant head so Lily could pet his velvety nose. "Come, little friend. Let me show you what the Dream Pyramid really does."

Together—girl and starlight bull—they stepped into the pyramid's purple glow. Inside, Lily saw thousands of dreams floating like glowing bubbles: dreams of flying, dreams of becoming astronauts, dreams of meeting dragons. And there, right beside her own dream bubble of becoming an artist, floated her marble!

"Every lost thing finds its way home eventually," Leo whispered. "Just like every dream finds its dreamer."

Lily petted Leo's nose one last time. "Will I ever see you again?"

"Whenever you're running through this field," Leo promised, "look for the purple glow. Dream guardians never truly leave their friends."

When Lily found her way back, the iPhone was just a phone again, her marble was in her pocket, and the stone pyramid looked ordinary. But as she skipped home, she knew some magic is real, especially when shared with a friend.
