The Bull Who Fell From Stars

Lily discovered the hidden pool on the last day of summer. The water glowed with a soft blue light, even though it was tucked deep in the forest where no sunlight could reach. The pool was shaped like a perfect circle, with lily pads that sparkled like tiny stars.

"Hello?" she called, and her voice echoed strangely, as if the pool itself was whispering back.

Suddenly, something fell from the sky with a whoosh and a splash! A small bull, no bigger than a puppy, tumbled into the water. But this wasn't an ordinary bull. His fur shimmered like the night sky, with constellations dancing across his back. His horns were made of moonlight.

"Oh no!" Lily cried. "Bulls can't swim!"

The star-bull thrashed and splashed, his constellation markings swirling with panic. But then something magical happened. The water itself seemed to embrace him, lifting him gently until he floated.

"I am Orion," the bull said, his voice sounding like wind chimes. "I fell from my place in the sky while playing with the other star-creatures. I was showing off my jumping, and I jumped too far."

Lily reached out her hand. "Grab onto my log! I'll help you to shore."

Orion paddled over, his wet constellation fur dripping silver onto the ordinary grass. "Thank you," he said. "I was so frightened. I thought all water was scary and dark, like the space between stars. But this water is... kind."

"Not all water is scary," Lily said gently. "Just like not all bulls are fierce. Sometimes the scariest things can become our friends if we give them a chance."

Orion looked at his reflection in the pool. "I never knew water could hold me up like a friend's hand. I was so afraid to fall, but falling let me meet you."

For the rest of that magical day, Orion showed Lily how the constellations danced, and she showed him how to skip stones across the water. When evening came, Orion's fur began to glow brighter.

"I have to go home now," he said. "But I'll never forget this pool, or you, or how I learned that even star-creatures can make new friends when they fall."

With a joyful leap, Orion sprang back into the sky, becoming once again the bright constellation Lily could see from her bedroom window. Sometimes, on summer nights, the little bull in the stars seemed to wink at her, reminding her that the most magical adventures often come from the most unexpected splashes.
