The Bull Who Dreamed of Water
Barnaby was a bull with a very big secret. While all the other bulls on the farm spent their days chewing grass and snorting at flies, Barnaby spent his time gazing at the crystal-clear pond behind the old red barn.
Inside that pond lived the most beautiful goldfish anyone had ever seen. Her name was Glimmer, and her scales shone like tiny pieces of the sun. Every day, Barnaby would wade into the cool water up to his knees just to say hello.
"I wish I could swim with you," Barnaby sighed one hot summer afternoon. "The water looks so refreshing."
Glimmer swam close to his nose and blew a perfect bubble. "Maybe you can! Close your eyes and make a wish with all your heart."
Barnaby squeezed his eyes tight and wished as hard as a bull could wish. Suddenly, he felt something strange happening. His heavy hooves didn't feel so heavy anymore. When he opened his eyes, he wasn't standing in the water anymore — he was floating IN it!
"You're doing it!" Glimmer cheered, dancing around him in excited circles. "Magic believes in you because you believe in magic!"
Together, they explored Glimmer's underwater kingdom. Barnaby met families of fish who played hide-and-seek among the swaying green plants. He discovered sparkling shells that hummed with pretty melodies when he nudged them. Glimmer showed him secret tunnels where tiny crayfish painted colorful pictures on the rocks with their claws.
When it was time for Barnaby to return to his world, he made Glimmer a promise. "Every day, I'll visit and bring you stories from up above."
And that's exactly what happened. Barnaby told Glimmer about fluffy clouds that looked like cotton candy. Glimmer taught Barnaby how to listen to the water's songs. The other cows thought Barnaby was silly for talking to a pond, but Barnaby didn't care.
He had discovered something wonderful: the best friends don't have to look alike or live in the same world. They just need big hearts and imagination.
Now, whenever you see a bull standing peacefully by the water's edge, you might just be witnessing a magical friendship between two very different creatures who found that being different made them exactly the same — both dreamers who believed in impossible things.
