The Bull Who Dreamed of Swimming

Lily loved the old oak tree at the bottom of her garden. Its leaves felt like soft hair against her cheek when she climbed its branches. One hot summer afternoon, something magical happened.

A magnificent bull appeared at the garden gate. But this was no ordinary bull. His coat shimmered with colors of sunset—orange, pink, and gold. His eyes were kind and gentle.

"Please," said the bull in a voice like honey, "will you help me?"

Lily nodded, her eyes wide with wonder.

"I live in the magical pool beyond the palm forest," the bull explained. "But I'm afraid to swim. I was told bulls can't swim, and I've never tried."

Lily remembered what her grandmother said: 'The bravest thing you can do is try something new.'

"I'll help you!" Lily promised.

Together they walked through a forest of palm trees. The bulls's golden horns glowed softly, lighting their path. The palm leaves whispered secrets as they passed.

Finally, they reached the magical pool. Its water sparkled like diamonds.

The bull stepped to the edge, trembling. Lily took his giant hoof in her small hand.

"You can do it," she said. "I'll be right here."

The bull dipped one hoof, then another. Slowly, he waded in. To his surprise, he didn't sink! He floated! He swam! He laughed—a deep, happy sound that made the pool ripple.

"I'm swimming!" he cheered. "I'm really swimming!"

The bull's friends appeared—magical creatures who had been watching. They cheered and splashed.

That day, Lily learned that sometimes the things we fear most become our greatest joys. And the bull learned that believing in yourself is the first step to doing impossible things.

Every summer after, Lily visited her friend the bull. They swam together in the magical pool, under the shade of palm trees, always remembering that the bravest adventures start with trying something new.
