The Bull Who Dreamed of Swimming

Lily was a curious girl who lived on Sunrise Farm. Every morning, she would go running through the golden fields, greeting all the animals. But her favorite friend was Barnaby, the giant brown bull with the kindest eyes.

Barnaby was enormous—his horns curved like crescent moons, and his hooves were the size of dinner plates. Everyone thought bulls were scary, but Lily knew better. Barnaby let her pat his velvet nose and even read stories to him while he chewed grass peacefully.

One hot afternoon, Lily discovered something magical behind the old oak tree—a hidden pool filled with shimmering blue water. It sparkled like someone had sprinkled diamonds across its surface. But what made Lily gasp was what she saw next.

Barnaby was standing at the edge of the pool, looking at the water with wide, wondering eyes. Then, to Lily's amazement, the great bull stepped into the pool.

Barnaby loved swimming! He splashed and played, creating rainbows in the water. When he saw Lily watching, he didn't run away. Instead, he nudged her gently with his wet nose, inviting her to join him.

"I never knew bulls could swim," Lily laughed, wading into the cool, magical water.

"Neither did I," said a deep, rumbly voice. Lily gasped—Barnaby could talk! The pool's magic had given him the gift of speech.

Every summer day, Lily and Barnaby went swimming together in their secret pool. They raced and played, and Barnaby told her stories about the stars and the moon.

The other farmers were amazed. They had always thought Barnaby was just a regular bull. But Lily knew the truth—that even the biggest, strongest creatures have gentle dreams and secret joys.

And sometimes, the most wonderful friendships come from the most unexpected places.
