The Bull Who Dreamed of Stars
Lily had the most extraordinary hair in her village. It wasn't just long—it shimmered like moonlight and changed color with her mood. When she was happy, it turned golden yellow. When she was curious, it became a deep ocean blue.
Behind her house lived Barnaby, a massive bull with a surprising secret. While other bulls spent their days charging at red capes or sleeping in the sun, Barnaby spent his nights gazing at the stars, dreaming of adventure.
One afternoon, Lily discovered something strange near the old oak tree. A thick black cable snaked out of the ground, pulsing with a mysterious purple glow. No one knew where it came from or what it did.
"What do you suppose it is?" Lily asked Barnaby, who'd lumbered over to investigate.
The bull gently nudged her hand with his soft nose. Then he did something extraordinary—he pointed his hoof toward the distant mountains, where a legendary spring was said to flow.
"The Starwater Spring!" Lily gasped. "You think the cable leads there?"
Together they embarked on an adventure. Through meadows and across streams they followed the glowing cable until they reached a hidden cave. Inside, they discovered the most beautiful sight imaginable.
The cable connected to a crystal pool filled with sparkling water that reflected the entire galaxy. But the water was slowly fading, its glow growing dimmer by the minute.
An ancient turtle appeared from the shadows. "The Starwater needs magic to survive," she rasped. "Long ago, people forgot to believe. Now only something pure and true can restore it."
Lily thought hard. What did she have that was pure and true? Her hands closed around something in her pocket—her grandmother's special vitamin that always made her feel brave and strong.
But it wasn't just any vitamin. It was made from stardust and dreams.
With a burst of courage, Lily dropped the sparkling tablet into the pool. Ripples of magic exploded outward. The water blazed with renewed light, shooting up through the cable like liquid sunshine.
That night, the stars shone brighter than ever before. And Lily noticed something wonderful—her hair now held a permanent constellation, right near her temple, matching the one on Barnaby's forehead.
They had saved the stars together, a girl and her bull, united by curiosity, courage, and the magic of believing.
Sometimes the most extraordinary friendships come from the most unexpected places, and true magic lives in kindness shared.
