The Bull Who Dreamed of Stars
Leo loved his small ceramic bull, Barnaby, that Grandpa had given him. Every night, Leo wished Barnaby could come alive.
One magical evening, Leo heard gentle clip-clopping outside his window. He peeked through the curtains and gasped—Barnaby had grown life-sized! His ceramic coat shimmered like moonlight, and his golden horns glowed softly.
"Barnaby?" Leo whispered, creeping outside in his pajamas.
The bull smiled—a warm, crinkly smile that made his eyes twinkle like stars. "Hello, Leo! I've been waiting for the perfect night. Look up!"
High above, the old palm tree swayed in the breeze, its fronds brushing against something silver and sparkling. Tiny creatures—fairies with gossamer wings—were playing padel with moonbeams! Their paddles made of woven starlight hit glowing orbs that bounced between the palm leaves.
"It's the Midnight Game," Barnaby explained. "Only on the most magical nights can we see it. But I've always been too small to join."
Leo's heart swelled. "You're not too small, Barnaby. You're brave and kind. That's what matters!"
Holding Barnaby's hoof, Leo called up to the palm tree. The fairies swooped down, their laughter like tiny bells. They made Barnaby a paddle from a fallen palm frond, strengthened with moon dust and starlight.
"Ready?" The smallest fairy—named Padel—grinned. "Hit the moonbeam back to us!"
Barnaby was nervous. His hooves weren't made for games. But with Leo cheering him on, he swung his paddle—and *whoosh!* The moonbeam sailed high, glowing brighter than ever!
"Wonderful!" cheered the fairies. They played until dawn painted the sky pink.
As Barnaby shrank back to his ceramic size, he whispered, "Thank you, Leo. I learned something important tonight."
"What's that?" Leo tucked Barnaby beside his pillow.
"That being small doesn't mean you can't do big things. You just need friends who believe in you."
Leo fell asleep with a smile, knowing that next moonlit night, Barnaby would be waiting—and maybe, just maybe, Leo would get to play padel with the fairies too.
