The Bull Who Dreamed of Baseball
Barnaby was not like other bulls. While the other bulls on Sunnydale Farm spent their days grazing and napping, Barnaby had a secret dream. He loved baseball.
Every afternoon, young Timmy would come to the pasture edge, just beyond the old wooden fence. With a THWACK, Timmy would hit his baseball high into the sky, and Barnaby would watch it soar with wide, wondering eyes.
"Oh, how I wish I could play!" Barnaby sighed, his snout resting on the fence rails.
One magical morning, something extraordinary happened. An orange butterfly landed on Barnaby's nose. It glowed with a soft, golden light that made Barnaby sneeze—CHOO!
When he opened his eyes, the butterfly spoke. "Barnaby, your wish has reached the fairies. Today, you shall play baseball!"
The butterfly fluttered toward the old oak tree, where a thick cable vine hung. "Swing on this cable, and it will carry you to the Secret Baseball Meadow where dreams come true."
Barnaby's heart pounded. He was scared, but he remembered his mother's words: "Bravery is not about having no fear. It's about doing what matters even when you ARE afraid."
The bull grabbed the cable with his strong hooves and SWISHED through the air, over the farm, past the pond, until—WHOOSH—he landed in a meadow filled with sparkling fireflies.
There, animals of all kinds were playing baseball! A rabbit pitched, a deer caught flies, and a wise old owl umpired.
"Barnaby, you're up to bat!" called a squirrel.
With a running start, Barnaby gripped the bat. The rabbit wound up and—ZIP—threw the ball. CRACK! Barnaby hit it so hard that the ball turned into a stream of rainbow colors and disappeared into the clouds.
"HOME RUN!" cheered all the animals.
That day, Barnaby learned that dreams, no matter how big or impossible they seem, can come true if you're brave enough to try. And every afternoon after that, when Timmy hit his baseball near the fence, Barnaby would smile, knowing he was the only bull in the world who had played in the Fairy Baseball League.
