The Bull Who Could Swim
Lily loved visiting her grandmother's farm. Every summer, she'd spend hours exploring the meadows, watching the clouds, and pretending she was a princess on a grand adventure. But her favorite spot was the secret pool hidden behind the old oak tree at the edge of the property.
The pool was small and crystal clear, with lily pads floating like green umbrellas. Lily would sit on the mossy bank and dream about mermaids and magical creatures living beneath the surface.
One hot afternoon, Lily was running to the pool when she heard something strange. A loud snort echoed from behind the bushes. Curious, she peeked through the leaves and saw the most surprising sight—a tiny bull no bigger than a dog, splashing in the water!
The little bull looked up at Lily with big, friendly eyes. He had golden fur that sparkled in the sunlight and tiny horns that curled like cinnamon sticks.
"Hello there," Lily whispered, kneeling beside the water. "What's your name?"
The bull blinked and spoke in a voice like rustling leaves. "I'm Barnaby, and I'm practicing my swimming."
Lily's eyes widened. "Bulls can't swim!"
"Magical ones can," Barnaby said with a wink. "Would you like to be my friend? I've been waiting for someone who believes in magic."
From that day on, Lily and Barnaby had wonderful adventures. They raced across meadows, shared picnics by the pool, and Barnaby even taught Lily how to skip stones like a champion. Every time she visited the farm, she'd find him waiting.
One day, Barnaby told Lily a secret. "Only people with kind hearts and big imaginations can see magical bulls. That's why you're my special friend."
Lily learned that the best friends aren't always the ones you expect. Sometimes, they're tiny swimming bulls who teach you that magic is real—you just have to believe.
Years later, Lily brought her own children to the farm. And sometimes, if they looked closely at the pool, they'd see ripples in the water and hear the faint sound of splishing and splashing and a very friendly snort.
