The Bull Who Could Fly

Barnaby was the smallest bull in the meadow, with the biggest dreams. While other bulls stomped their heavy hooves and snorted at passing butterflies, Barnaby would tiptoe to the edge of Mrs. Green's garden. There, he would **spy** through the wooden fence at something magical.

Mrs. Green grew the most magnificent **spinach** in the whole valley—leaves that shimmered like emerald jewels in the morning sun. They seemed to glow, as if holding captured starlight. Barnaby didn't want to eat them like ordinary food. He wanted to understand their secret.

One ordinary Tuesday, something extraordinary happened. Barnaby nibbled a single shiny leaf that had fallen through the fence. His hooves began to sparkle. His heavy tail felt light as a dandelion puff. When he exhaled, tiny rainbow bubbles floated from his nose!

He could float! Just for a minute, Barnaby the bull drifted above the clover, looking down at his astonished friends.

But Barnaby had a problem. The magical spinach grew highest on a trellis, and he couldn't reach those special leaves alone. He needed help.

That's when he met Pip, a clever mouse who loved to **spy** on everything from hollow trees. Pip had discovered an old metal **cable** behind the barn—thick and sturdy, left by farmers long ago. It coiled like a giant silver snake, ending near the garden fence.

"We can use it together!" squeaked Pip, eyes twinkling. "I'll guide you!"

Every morning, the unlikely friends worked as a team. Pip wove the cable through the fence to create a harness. Barnaby ate the magical spinach and floated gently upward, carefully picking the shimmering leaves. The cable kept him safe from floating away into the clouds.

From that day on, Barnaby and Pip tended the spinach together. The other bulls soon learned that being different wasn't bad—it was magnificent. Some even tried floating themselves!

And every evening, if you looked carefully at Mrs. Green's garden, you might see a bull bobbing gently against the sunset, anchored by friendship and the most magical spinach in the world.

The meadow had discovered something wonderful: even the heaviest dreams can take flight with the right friends, clever thinking, and perhaps a little bit of magic.
