The Bull Who Caught Lightning
Lila had the most curious hair in all of Meadowbrook Village. It wasn't brown or black or golden — it changed color with her mood. When she was happy, it shimmered like sunshine. When she was sad, it turned the soft blue of a rainy sky. And when she was excited? It crackled with tiny sparks, just like miniature lightning!
One stormy evening, Lila sat by her window watching the rain pour down. Her grandmother had told her stories about the Great Storm Bull, a magical creature who lived on Thunder Mountain. Legend said the bull could catch lightning in his horns and bring sunshine back to cloudy days.
Suddenly, a brilliant flash of lightning split the sky! Lila's hair stood straight up, glowing with excitement. She peered through the rain and gasped — there, standing on a hilltop, was the magnificent Storm Bull!
His coat was as dark as midnight, and his massive horns gleamed like polished silver. But what made Lila catch her breath was what happened next — a bolt of lightning came streaking down from the clouds, and the bull lowered his head and caught it right on his horns!
The lightning didn't hurt him. Instead, it wrapped around his horns like a glowing ribbon, turning from bright white to warm golden light. The Storm Bull shook his mighty head, and the light scattered across the sky, pushing away the dark clouds.
Lila couldn't believe her eyes. She rushed outside, forgetting her raincoat, her hair now shining a brilliant pink with wonder.
"Thank you!" she called out, waving her arms.
The Storm Bull turned his massive head and looked at her with eyes full of ancient wisdom. He gave a gentle snort, and a small spark of lightning floated from his horns toward her. It landed in her hair, and Lila felt warm all over, like drinking hot cocoa on a snowy day.
The bull bowed his head respectfully, then turned and galloped up Thunder Mountain, his hooves thundering like distant drums.
The next morning, Meadowbrook Village woke to the most beautiful sunrise anyone had ever seen. And Lila? Her hair now had a permanent sparkle — a tiny reminder that magic is real, and sometimes, if you're lucky enough to believe, you might just see a bull catch lightning in the storm.
From that day on, whenever Lila saw storm clouds gathering, she would smile and touch her sparkling hair, knowing her friend was up on Thunder Mountain, ready to bring back the sun.
