The Bull Who Befriended Lightning

Barnaby was no ordinary bull. While other bulls on Sunny Meadow Farm spent their days chewing grass and napping, Barnaby spent his time watching the sky. He had a secret dream—he wanted to fly.

The other farm animals laughed. "Bulls don't fly!" said the cows. "You're too heavy!" chirped the sparrows.

But Barnaby didn't give up. Every evening, he climbed Clover Hill to practice. He would run as fast as his strong legs could carry him, then leap, hoping the wind would catch him. Instead, he'd tumble into the soft grass, laughing at himself.

One summer afternoon, dark clouds gathered over the meadow. The air felt thick and electric. Barnaby's friend Luna, a wise old owl, flew down to warn him.

"A storm is coming, little one. You should seek shelter in the barn."

But Barnaby had never seen a storm up close. His curiosity sparkled brighter than his fear. "I want to see what happens!"

As rain began to fall, Barnaby stood on Clover Hill, feeling the cool water droplets on his nose. Then—CRACK! A bolt of lightning shot across the sky like a river of fire.

Instead of running, Barnaby watched in wonder. The lightning wasn't scary at all—it was dancing!

"Hello up there!" Barnaby called.

To his surprise, the lightning answered. A smaller bolt zigzagged down, landing gently beside him. It transformed into a glowing creature made of light.

"I'm Flash!" the lightning sprite chirped. "You're not afraid of me?"

"You're beautiful!" said Barnaby. "I wish I could fly like you."

Flash grinned. "I can help with that!"

The lightning sprite wrapped around Barnaby's horns like a crown of light. Suddenly, Barnaby felt light as a feather. He hopped—and didn't come down.

Together, bull and lightning danced through the storm, soaring over rain-soaked fields while waterfalls of rain glistened below. The cows watched from the barn in amazement.

When the storm passed, Flash returned to the clouds, but left Barnaby with a gift: a small lightning-shaped mark on his forehead that glowed softly in the dark.

From that day on, whenever storms came to Sunny Meadow, Barnaby would climb Clover Hill to visit his friend Flash. And the other animals learned something important: sometimes the most magical friendships come from the most unexpected places, and courage isn't about being fearless—it's about being curious even when you're a little bit afraid.
