The Bull Who Answered Magic Calls
Lily lived in a house at the edge of the world, where the sun painted the sky pink every evening and the stars blinked like friendly eyes. Her favorite spot was beneath the old palm tree that swayed in the warm breeze, its fronds whispering secrets to anyone who listened.
One afternoon, Lily found something strange beneath the palm tree. It was a small, shiny rectangle—what her older brother called an iPhone, left behind by a careless tourist. But when Lily touched it, something magical happened. The screen didn't show apps or games. It showed a tiny bull, no bigger than her thumb, standing in a meadow made of starlight.
"Hello?" Lily whispered, tapping the screen gently.
The tiny bull looked up and blinked. His fur was the color of storm clouds, and his horns curved like crescent moons. To Lily's amazement, the bull spoke in a voice like rustling leaves.
"I'm Barnaby," he said. "I've been waiting for someone kind enough to find me."
The magical device was actually a fairy's enchanted window, created to help lonely hearts find friends. Every time Lily touched the screen, Barnaby grew bigger and bigger, until finally, with a burst of golden sparkles, he stepped right out of the iPhone and stood before her beneath the palm tree.
Barnaby was a full-sized bull now, but his eyes were gentle and kind. He lowered his massive head so Lily could pet his velvety nose.
"I was trapped in that magic window for a hundred years," Barnaby explained. "A jealous fairy put me there because I was too friendly with humans. But you—you're different. You have a kind heart."
From that day on, Barnaby became Lily's guardian and friend. They had adventures together—racing through fields of wildflowers, splashing in the babbling brook, and sleeping beneath the palm tree while Barnaby told stories of ancient times.
The other children were scared at first. "A bull! He's dangerous!" they cried. But Barnaby let them pet his soft nose and carried the little ones on his back, carefully and slowly. Soon, everyone loved Barnaby.
Lily learned that true friends come in all shapes and sizes, and that kindness can break any spell—even ones that last a hundred years.
Now, whenever you see a palm tree swaying in the breeze, listen closely. You might hear the whispers of a girl and her bull, still having adventures, still teaching the world that friendship is the most powerful magic of all.
