The Bull's Secret Pool
Lily pressed her nose against the cool glass of her bedroom window. Something strange was happening in the backyard. The family's swimming pool was glowing orange—not the soft orange of a sunset, but the bright, magical orange of a shooting star caught in water.
At midnight, when the house was quiet, Lily tiptoed outside. A magnificent bull stood beside the pool. His fur shimmered like stardust, and his horns curved like crescent moons.
"I'm Taurus," the bull said softly. "I come from the sky when magic pools appear on Earth. Would you like to see something wonderful?"
Lily nodded, her heart beating fast.
The bull dipped one hoof into the orange water. Ripples turned into tiny padel racquets that danced on the surface. "This is star-tennis," Taurus explained. "Every time you hit a spark across the pool, someone's dream comes true."
Lily stepped to the edge. The orange water felt warm beneath her feet. She swung at a floating spark with an invisible racquet. WHOOSH! The spark flew across the pool and burst into a thousand tiny butterflies.
"You just made a sick boy's wish come true," the bull said. "He wanted to see butterflies before winter comes."
They played until dawn, Lily sending sparks of hope across the magical orange water—sparks that became laughter for lonely children, medicine for the sick, and dreams for those who had forgotten how to wish.
As the sun rose, Taurus climbed back into the sky. The pool turned back to ordinary blue, but Lily knew better. The bull left her with a gift: a tiny orange padel racquet that glowed when someone nearby needed help.
Now, whenever she sees an orange butterfly or hears distant laughter, Lily smiles. She knows magic pools appear for those willing to share their sparks with others.
And somewhere in the stars, Taurus watches for the next child who believes in impossible things.
