The Bull's Secret Pool

Lily loved exploring the forest behind her house. One sunny afternoon, she followed a sparkling blue butterfly deeper than she'd ever gone before. The butterfly led her to a hidden clearing she'd never seen.

In the center stood the most beautiful pool Lily had ever imagined. The water shimmered with colors like a rainbow had melted into it. But something was wrong. The colors were fading, turning dull and gray.

Beside the pool sat a enormous bull with the softest brown eyes Lily had ever seen. His horns were made of twisted golden light, and his fur sparkled like he was sprinkled with star dust.

"Hello," Lily whispered.

The bull sighed, and his breath smelled like wildflowers. "Hello, little one. I am Barnaby, guardian of the Magic Pool. But our pool is dying."

"What happened?" Lily asked.

"The pool needs its special vitamin," Barnaby explained sadly. "Every hundred years, someone must toss a Rainbow Vitamin into the water. But I'm too big to climb the Crystal Mountain where it grows."

Lily's eyes widened. "I could climb it!"

Barnaby shook his great head. "No mountain has ever been climbed. But perhaps...

Together, we could try."

Lily climbed onto Barnaby's back, and they set off toward the towering Crystal Mountain that shone like diamond in the distance. The journey was filled with wonders—flowers that sang, trees that offered sweet fruit, and streams that giggled as they flowed.

At the mountain's peak, they found the Rainbow Vitamin glowing on a pedestal. It was shaped like a heart and pulsed with every color imaginable.

But a rock lizard snatched it first! Lily was quick, though, and she remembered something important. She offered the lizard some berries from their journey. Grateful, the lizard returned the vitamin.

Back at the pool, Lily tossed the Rainbow Vitamin into the water. Suddenly, the pool erupted with brilliant colors! The water began to bubble and glow with new magic.

Barnaby dipped his horns into the pool, and suddenly Lily understood. The water had gained the power to heal any sickness and make plants grow strong.

"You saved us," Barnaby said, nuzzling Lily's hand. "You showed that kindness is the greatest magic of all."

Lily visited her friend Barnaby often, and the magic pool never faded again. She had learned that even someone small could do something big, especially with the help of a friend.
