The Bull's Secret Pool

Lily loved baseball, but she was the worst player on the Sunbeams team. Her red curls bounced wildly whenever she swung the bat, and she always missed.

One Saturday afternoon, crying after another terrible game, she wandered into the woods behind her house. There, she discovered a crystal POOL she'd never seen before. The WATER sparkled like liquid diamonds, and something about it called to her.

Suddenly, a massive BULL with golden horns stepped from behind an oak tree. But instead of charging, he spoke in a kind, rumbling voice. "I was once the greatest baseball player in all the land," the bull said wisely. "But I let winning become more important than friendship. Now I guard this magical pool, which shows the truth in your heart."

Lily's eyes widened. The bull gently nudged her toward the pool. "Look," he said.

Peering into the water, Lily didn't see her reflection. Instead, she saw her teammates cheering, high-fiving, and smiling—win or lose. She saw herself laughing even when she struck out. She saw the JOY of playing together.

"The magic isn't in being perfect," the bull explained. "It's in your HAIR—wild and free, just like your spirit. It's in how you make your friends feel. THAT'S what makes a real champion."

Lily wiped her tears. "Can I come back?"

"Whenever you need reminding," the bull promised. "But carry this magic in your heart."

The next game, Lily still missed every ball. But she cheered louder than anyone, high-fived her teammates, and laughed when she tripped rounding first base. Her coach smiled. "Now THAT'S what I call teamwork."

That night, Lily touched her wild curls and whispered, "Thank you, bull." And somewhere in the woods, a wise creature smiled, knowing another heart had learned the real magic of the game.
