The Bull's Secret Pond
Lily loved visiting her grandmother's farm. Every summer, she'd help feed the chickens and collect eggs. But her favorite spot was behind the old barn, where a gentle bull named Barnaby lived.
Barnaby wasn't like other bulls. He had the softest brown eyes and would let Lily pat his massive head. One hot afternoon, Lily brought her iPhone to take pictures of butterflies dancing near the wildflowers.
"What are you really up to, Barnaby?" Lily whispered, clicking photos as he plodded toward the forest edge.
Curious, Lily followed — quietly, like a little spy. Barnaby led her through trees and over a bubbling creek until they reached a hidden pond Lily had never seen before.
The water sparkled like diamonds. Barnaby stepped in, and something magical happened. Ripples of light spread across the surface. Fish made of rainbow colors swam around his legs. Dragonflies with glowing wings landed on his horns.
Lily gasped. Barnaby turned and looked at her with those gentle eyes.
"You found my secret," he seemed to say. "But everyone needs a special place."
Lily understood. Even the biggest, strongest creatures need peace and beauty. She put down her iPhone and sat by the water, watching the magic together with her friend.
From that day on, Lily never spied on Barnaby again. Some secrets are meant to be shared, and some friends are worth waiting for.
