The Bull's Secret Garden

Once there was a kind bull named Barnaby who loved to garden. His favorite plant was spinach, with its bright green leaves that danced in the wind. Every morning, Barnaby would water his garden while his friend Whiskers the cat purred beside him.

One day, something strange happened. The spinach plants began to wobble! Their leaves drooped and their stems grew floppy. They looked like little green zombies, walking slowly in their sleep.

"Oh no!" cried Barnaby. "My spinach is turning into zombie vegetables!"

Whiskers the cat hissed, her fur puffing up like a dandelion. But then a deep voice rumbled behind them.

"They're not zombies," said a friendly bear named Bertha, peeking through the fence. "They're just tired. Spinach plants need to sleep at night, just like you."

Barnaby blinked. "Sleep? But plants don't sleep!"

"Oh, but they do!" Bertha smiled. "I'm a garden bear, you see. I watch over sleeping plants. Your spinach stayed up too late watching fireflies. Now they're cranky."

Whiskers approached carefully and sniffed a floppy spinach leaf. She sneezed, and the plant perked up a little!

"See?" Bertha laughed. "Cat sneezes are like wake-up calls for vegetables."

Barnaby and Whiskers learned something magical that day. Everything needs rest—even plants. And sometimes, things that seem scary (like zombie spinach) are just tired friends who need a little care.

That night, Barnaby tucked his spinach plants in with soft blankets of soil. Whiskers curled up beside the garden to guard them. And Bertha the bear hummed a gentle lullaby.

The next morning, the spinach stood tall and proud, their leaves sparkling with dew. No more zombies—just happy, well-rested plants ready to grow.

Barnaby made a promise: from then on, he would let his garden sleep when the sun went down. Because even the smallest things in nature deserve their rest.
