The Bull's Secret Game

Lily was a spy. At least, that's what she told everyone. With her magnifying glass (really just an old jar) and her notebook (filled with drawings), she spent her summer days on important missions. Her favorite mission was watching the big kids play baseball at the park near Miller's Farm.

Every evening, Lily would hide behind the old oak tree, spying on the game. She loved how the ball sailed through the air like a shooting star, and how the players worked together like a team of superheroes. But what interested her most was the bull.

The biggest bull Lily had ever seen—with a shiny black coat and horns that curved like crescent moons—always stood by the wooden fence, watching the baseball game with dark, gentle eyes. None of the other kids seemed to notice him, but Lily's spy instincts told her this bull was special.

One day, Lily brought her own baseball to the park. When no one was looking, she stood near the fence and tossed the ball toward the bull. She held her breath. Would he run away? Would he ignore it?

Instead, the bull caught the ball gently with his mouth and tossed it back with surprising accuracy! Lily caught it, her eyes wide with wonder.

"You're amazing!" she whispered. The bull blinked slowly and looked proud.

For the rest of the summer, Lily returned every day. She learned the bull's name was Bumper, and he had secretly watched baseball games for years. One magical afternoon, Lily pitched a ball, and Bumper hit it with his horn! The ball flew over the fence and landed near the kids' diamond.

The players stopped and stared. Then they laughed and clapped, amazed at the bull's hidden talent. From that day on, Bumper became the team's good luck charm. Sometimes the biggest, quietest friends have the most wonderful secrets.

But Lily's favorite secret was this: she was the spy who discovered that baseball magic comes in all shapes and sizes, even in the form of a gentle bull named Bumper.
