The Bull's Secret Field

Emma and Leo loved playing behind the old school, where tall grass swayed like ocean waves. One sunny afternoon, Emma hit their baseball so high it disappeared into a mysterious grove of palm trees nobody had noticed before.

"We have to find it!" Leo said, grabbing his padel racket.

Inside the palm grove, they discovered Ferdinand—a massive bull with the gentlest brown eyes and golden horns that glowed like sunset. Instead of charging, Ferdinand smiled.

"You found my secret field," Ferdinand rumbled softly. "Every hundred years, children who truly love play discover this place. Here, games become magic."

He led them to a crystal-clear swimming pool that shimmered with rainbow colors. "Jump in!" Ferdinand urged. "The water shows you your dreams."

Emma plunged into the warm water and suddenly she was swimming through a sky filled with stars, where fish made of light swam beside her. Leo dove in and found himself swimming through an underwater city made of coral castles.

When they surfaced, Ferdinand taught them a magical game that mixed baseball and padel, where the ball left trails of sparkling light and every hit sounded like music.

"Remember," Ferdinand said as the sun began to set, "magic lives wherever friendship and play exist together. You don't need secret fields to find wonder."

He pressed his warm nose against their hands, and suddenly they were back in the grassy field, holding their baseball and padel racket. The palm trees had vanished, but something magical remained.

"Do you think that really happened?" Emma whispered.

Leo held up his baseball—it glowed with a tiny sparkle that faded but didn't disappear. "I think Ferdinand taught us the best game of all."

"What's that?" Emma asked.

"Believing in magic together."

And every time they played after that, whether swimming or hitting their baseball, they found a little bit of magic—because friendship, they learned, was the greatest wonder of all.
