The Bull's Secret Door
Lily couldn't sleep. The full moon shone through her window, casting silver shadows across her room. She tiptoed downstairs to the garden, where her grandmother's old stone bull stood silent watch near the swimming pool.
The bull had been there forever, its stone horns curved like crescent moons. But tonight, something magical happened. As Lily approached, the bull's eyes twinkled like stars. The stone creature lowered its massive head and spoke in a rumbling voice like distant thunder.
"Tonight is the night, little one. The pool becomes a door."
Lily's heart raced with wonder. The water in the pool began to glow with golden light, swirling into a perfect shape—a pyramid made entirely of water, rising higher and higher until it sparkled above her head.
"Step inside," whispered the bull.
Lily took a breath and stepped into the water pyramid. But she didn't get wet! Instead, she found herself in a magical chamber filled with floating crystals that chimed like tiny bells. Ancient paintings covered the walls, showing children from long ago playing with animals.
"This was a place of friendship," the bull explained, appearing beside her. "Where children and animals once played together as equals. We've waited centuries for someone pure of heart to rediscover it."
Lily felt tears of joy. She pressed her hand against the wall, and suddenly the pyramid filled with visions—children riding gentle bulls, splashing in pools, building pyramids of sand together.
"Will you help me share this magic?" the bull asked. "Real magic isn't about power. It's about kindness, friendship, and remembering that all creatures deserve love."
Lily promised she would. The bull nodded, and the water pyramid dissolved into sparkles. Lily was back in the garden, the stone bull silent again. But she noticed something new—a small crystal pyramid tucked between the bull's stone hooves, glowing softly in the moonlight.
From that night on, Lily visited the bull often. And sometimes, if she looked closely, she could see the old bull wink, reminding her that magic lives wherever kindness and friendship bloom together.
The best secrets, Lily learned, are the ones we share with open hearts.
